About us!
What We Do?
We at HNSBC, aim to practice evidence based management of tumors involving Head Neck and Skullbase Region.
This invariably involves a multidisciplinary decision making. We aim to routinely conduct MDT meeting involving Medical oncologist, Radiation Oncologist and Surgeon for providing tailor made treatment for individual patient.
• Otorhinolaryngologist for routine ENT care.
• Speech and Swallow therapist to help our pts post-surgery or Chemoradiation, for adequate rehabilitation.
• Pain specialist, for postop / postChemoradiation pts or palliative patients to avail the unbearable pain.
• Palliative care Physicians to provide care and also to help relatives learn how to take care of terminally ill patients.
• Physiotherapy – specially trained Oncophysiotherapist will help the cancer survivors to get back to near normal life and function adequately as early as possible.
• Dietitian – As our patients would suffer from inadequate nutrition due to the disease, trained dieticians would help them counter the stress of surgery and adjuvant treatment with minimal possible weight loss.
• Psychologist – in the torrid times of treatment where not just the patient but also the family needs some emotional support and motivation, a trained psychologist would help fill that gap.

I visited Dr. Ankit Mahuvakar in Dec-2022 at HCG hospital, Borivali when I was suffering from an ulcer beneath my tongue and soon I was diagnosed with *oral cavity cancer. Dr. Ankit was very kind to us in explaining the whole situation as well as the course of treatment. He provided me moral support and assured that everything will be fine. I used to reach out to him for every little doubt I had and he would patiently answer my queries. Under his skillful hands, the surgery was done successfully despite my age and comorbidities that were involved. I would say he is not only an excellent surgeon but also an empathetic and helpful human being. I am eternally grateful to him and his team. I am doing well now in day-to-day life. Sanjay Pandit
Hi, my name is Mr. Kalpesh J. Vyas. I stay at Malad, Mumbai. I was diagnosed with tongue cancer in August 2020. I was reffered from Tata Memorial Hospital to Dr. Ankit Mahuvakar for my surgery and further treatment.
When I met Dr. Ankit, he made me aware about the disease stage, the surgical plan and the reconstructive plan, morbidities associated with surgery like change in voice and difficulty in swallowing. The surgery went on without any complication. Generally pts like me have significant difficulty in speaking, but people around me are able to understand what I speak and I am able to run my business well. I also have good taste sensation, though I have to grind all my food before I eat.
I am very grateful to Dr. Ankit . It is because of his expertise in surgery, that I am disease free, more than 2 yrs post my surgery.
Not just that, Dr. Ankit has also helped and supported me in facing many problems in life, and it was because of him that I have sailed through my treatment without major problems.
Thanks and Regards,
Kalpesh Vyas.
